x pipe, x pipe or dual

for a 02 3.8 what would be the best exhaust for the money? a x pipe or a h pipe or just plain dual exhaust?

NONE of the above in reality.......

You just need a BOLT ON quasi dual kit, that basically splits the Y-pipe into two. Going with true dual, meaning each pipe goes straight back is a waste of time as well X-pipes and H-pipes. X & H pipes are not needed with ANY 3.8L/3.9L & 4.2L Ford V6 engine because they are already BALANCED, with even exhaust pulses from each side. You will not even gain any scavaging effect with them either. Roush, even does not install true dual, X-pipe or H-pipes with the V6 versons of the Roush's. They just split the Y-pipe into a quasi dual setup.

I am speaking from experience, and I have done the dyno's of before and after. I would reccomend that you get a Flowmaster, Spintech or MAC cat back kit for the V6 or something chambered. You will gain a bit more torque that way, and not loose any hp. Also if ANY tells you the power curve moves up, that's COMPLETE Bull CHITE!. It does not move up at all, I moved the RPM limiter to 6800 rpms.... and it made ZERO difference.

Re: x pipe, x pipe or dual

dont do an x pipe u dont have enough exhaust flow. if you want the best sounding exhaust, do true dual exhaust, 2.5" all the way back ... 2 cats, and original flowmaster 40 series mufflers. dont get the delta flow, get the original 40.

go to a shop and get a price for custom mandarel bent ss pipes.

with this combo u should have a good tone without losing low end torque
