Question 98 Jimmy Trip odometer resetting

Hello all,

This problem just started with cold weather here in NY.
I reset the trip every tank full so I know when I need to gas up.
(dont trust the gas gauge)

When I start the 98 Jimmy the full odometer reading is there, I push the button and it is set back to 0.0- the radio stations hold and I seem to have no other problems.

Car was serviced before cold weather and I was told the alt and batt were perfect. I know the alt could go at anytime as it has in the past with other cars. The cold weather does wonders for the batt, I now carry a Jump start just in case.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave-

Re: 98 Jimmy Trip odometer resetting

Yes 4.6 V6- 4WD but drive in 2WD.
When I 1st got it the truck (used off lease) I was getting about 18 to 20 MPG parkway only, use truck for back and forth to work 60 miles round trip per day. Now with winter time a warm up time I dont even bother.
Good luck,
Dave-

I had the same problem on my 98 Jimmy. It happened to me after the dealer had replaced my instrument cluster to try to fix my speedo problem. They put another cluster in and it fixed the problem. Hope this helps.
