b15 Vtec head?

I've got a '93 civic dx w/ a jdm d15 engine, only problem is there is an open port that is covered where the vtec solenoid would be. My question is, is the only thing missing from taking it back to a vtec is the solenoid and the wiring to the ecu. or would the rocker arm that the vtec controls have been replaced. any help would be appreciated. thanx

Re: b15 Vtec head?

'93 DX came with a VTEC? Or swap?

I am 1000 % positive it is a jdm engine. Yes it was a swap obviously. And why did some moron make it non-vtec is a very good question.

Re: b15 Vtec head?

never heard of anyone doing that...if it still has the D15B head, all you would need is to install the solenoid, and i guess rewire your ecu or get another ecu that is compatible if it isn't the original D15B ecu

Re: b15 Vtec head?

did you buy the swap yourself and have it put in,or did you buy the car with this engine already swapped in?i dont understand why somebody would take the vtec solenoid out of the head or why you would buy it without it,this engine is worthless without the vtec.
