Tamiya Toyota GT-One Test Car

Ok, while my Porsche is drying, began working on this super nice Tamiya GT-One kit of the Toyota. This one is going to be in Test Vehicle livery, minum identification insignia outside, plain non graphic monochrome painting, bare metal, etc...

This is the kit :

Test shot of the engine... lets just say this kit and carbon fiber decals are trying my patience!!!

Wheels: semi gloss black with red anodized center hubs, stock rubber, etc.

Brakes:

Seat and harness, pedals (photoetch pieces).

Please comment and Veyron, I strated this model because of you!! so you better comment!

Looking good. I like the wiring job you've done on the injection system.

Re: Tamiya Toyota GT-One Test Car

I use Tamiya clear blue for the disc center (to stimulate anodized connections and disc brake center as well) straight out of the bottle.

That's one of my favourite cars in Gran Turismo 3...
You're off to a great start. Just don't use the Mazda decal as someone as someone else did
Keep us updated, I'll be watching this progress real close.

Nice job! I just started on mine, which will be the race version of Brundle and co. I have the SMS templated carbon on order as well as an Accu Station set and the old SMS etched set, so it'll be a full detailer. I know what you mean about the carbon work though...

Re: Tamiya Toyota GT-One Test Car

I was debating about investign over 200.00 USD on detailing kits, opening doors, resin conversions, and at leat 3 different etch sets, but decided against it.. modeling is quickly becoming too pricey if you buy every latest photoetch and detailing kit... But I am looking forward to seeing one in person. If anyone did or even have the pe tree for this car I would love to see it!

Will continue plugging progress along, despite lack of interest

Got dash board and test fitted some interior products.

The dash board is covered with carbon fiber, all the openings and manufacturer marking were added, the steering wheel is taken off and wired...

seat and pedals added for test fitting:

Grille screen added
