Re: tamiya lotus europa special

Never imagined it looks so good in black. Now I must build one!

Everything looks great except the plug wires, which are too thick. Is it paint or foil on the wheels?

It look great! Congratulations.

What do you think about the kit? I'm looking forward to purchase it but I haven't saw it on person.

Re: tamiya lotus europa special

I always liked the Lotus Europa when I was growing up in England. The Europa Special Twin Cam was the most desirable, particularly because of the JPS Colours, echoing the Formula 1 racing success of the time. I've never seen the Tamiya model built before. Your results shows what a good model it can be with a skilled build such as yours. Well done.

And for next year's 2011 Formula 1, the JPS colours are being revived:

Re: tamiya lotus europa special

Looks very nice!
But the clear coating looks way too thick...looks like it almost ate up the door pannel line. I've seen the same problems with models coated with urethane. Is this common problem of urethane clear?

Re: tamiya lotus europa special

Probably not one of Lotus' most beautiful designs but I still love it

Very nicely built

Re: tamiya lotus europa special

I owned a '72 Europa special in black/gold with oatmeal trim many years ago. It was a fantastic, head-turning car.
