New track time at Speedway, plus I raced a Supra TT
Well the track was crowded worse then I have ever seen it. Basically there were 450 people there, and no one started racing until about 3:30pm, so I only managed to get in two runs
On my first run I uncorked my exhaust cutout. I then noticed that my security light came on (Man I hate stock security systems). I think it turned on the fuel cutoff system or something, cause my car wouldn't start. I waited awhile and then tried to start it. Luckily it started. Please note that I was trying out my new Daytona ZR tires and not my nitto drag radials. Anyways my first run was against some muscle car. I think it was a late 60's camaro or mustang, I wasn't really paying attention, cause I was afraid that my car was gonna die on me. My times are as follows: R/T .730 60' 2.430 330' 6.240 1/8 9.248 @ 81.87 1000' 11.798 1/4 13.918 @106.20 My second run was against a BPU Supra that had 440 whp (The guy works at some speed shop in R&D). I knew I had to use the juice, so I did, despite traction issues. He had an automatic, so I knew that I had to nail the light. Unfortunately I was unable to keep the stub, cause it wasn't posted, but it sucked anyways. This is what i remember: i killed him from the light (.613 R/T versus .9XX). I had a ridiculous 60' time of 2.5 sec, and he had a 2.4 sec. 60'. I had a big smile on my face, until I saw the supra just pass me. Basically i had that feeling of powerlessness, where you know you can't do anything, cause there just isn't enough there. I then hit the rev limiter in third. i ended up with a crappy 13.5 sec. 1/4 mile at 112 mph, versus 12.5 sec. @116 mph for his car. That sucks!!!! Other cars that were there and there times: WRX STi 13.9 sec. 1/4 mile, and a 14.3 sec. 1/4 mile Lightning pickup 15.3 sec. (He almost ate guardrail) A 500 whp, slick driven corvette that only saw a 11.7 sec. 1/4 mile (He was soooo pissed off he actually left the track after his first run). Basically no one was really hooking up, and the cars were all over the road. A bunch of other LS1 owners were complaining about the lack of traction. It's a good thing Danno SS didn't go, he would've hated it (2 runs in 5 hours isn't a screaming deal for $20). I plan on going back P.S. I couldn't start my car later on, it basically wouldn't allow me to get any juice. I had to get it jump started. It starts fine today, but i'm gonna take it into the dealership, and hopefully they can rip out that stupid security system

hey not too bad of times.
do hate it when u only get a couple of runs in for over $20...its pathetic really. where are u guys located, cuz all our tracks here in the grand ol' state of washington (shit-hole rain gutter), are closed. haha...an no offense meant by this, but traction musta been HORRIBLE, cuz even my little four banger was puttin down 2.3 60's on a decent track.

i've begun to notice this more and more...

Re: New track time at Speedway, plus I raced a Supra TT
Yeah i typically pull off a 2.3 sec. 60', which honestly sucks if you think about it. I couldn't believe how poor my times were. I plan on buying some LCA's shortly. i think that should help out a little. I also plan on using the DR's this next time out. My old time for that track is a 13.1 sec. 1/4 mile at 112.97 mph. That was with a 2.3 sec. 60', so i know I have it in the car, just not with normal tires on that track. Hopefully I will go out there again. Maybe Danno will be there.

Re: New track time at Speedway, plus I raced a Supra TT
yeah, 2.3 isn't really that great... i hope you can whittle that down...
my lude can pull high 2.3, low 2.4... and i'm 2 seconds slower than you in ET... so if you can get that 60' down around 2.0, you'll be golden... good luck |

that sucks..i know what you are talking about...even though you know you did beat the other guy in skill you still get to see him pass you due just to sheer power difference

I had that feeling though it was too be expected. Nice maybe the traction issues will be sorted next time you go.

Sounds like fun, regardless of traction issues. Throw on some diff tires, the LCAs, and work on it. 1.9s are in your future

![]() Hmm, [email protected] with a 2.43 60' Let me take a stab at your mods: 00 Z28 M6 with LID/filter/headers/FRA and a 75 shot. Was I close? Looks like I'll need a few more bolt-ons to keep up with you. 2.3+ really sucks for Fontana, that's supposed to be the "good" track. I've gotten as low as 2.181 on street tires there, usually get 2.2XX. I'm sure next week won't be as bad. The same thing happened over the summer. I was there on the first day of the season and only got 3 runs in for the entire day. By August, I was getting 6 runs in by 9PM. I will definitely be there next week (the fiance and I have reached an understanding). Send me a PM if you want to meet somewhere and then headout.

Pretty close. I don't have the headers, but I have a 100 shot of dope. BTW I am selling my car.

Re: New track time at Speedway, plus I raced a Supra TT
I have it listed for $14,800 O.B.O. It is listed on autotrader.com. I wish to own an import car again. Hopefully I will find a buyer soon.
