97 Dakota with funny noise

Okay, within the last week or so my engine has been making this funny humming/grinding noise. It basicallt sounds the same as a power steering punp going bad, but I don't think that is it. It only makes this sound when you are driving or press the accellerator. Anyone else have this problem? Please help!
