Japanese Dealer Needs Help

OK.

I have read every single sticky at the top. I have personally talked to the DOT, EPA, and have corresponded via e-mail with a representative from the CARB.
I am a licensed motor vehicle dealer in Japan. (kobutsushou 741021000145). I have sold 8 GTRs to american military members in the last 6 months, and have 2 sales pending. I currently have a stock of 4 GTRs.
I have contacted Motorex via e-mail on 4 occasions explaining that I am attempting to ship several MILITARY MEMBER vehicles back to the US at one time. I PM and e-mailed the one who calls himself tyndago on this message board and he has also failed to respond. Unless I am mistaken, he is the representative for RBMotoring.

I have noticed this: Everytime someone brings up the topic of someone other than Motorex or RBmotoring importing a vehicle, they get harrassed or flamed by certain members or Moderators of this board. But, when you want to import through them, they fail to return any correspondence. This brings me to a quandry. 1, I would like to take care of my customers. 2, I would prefer not to use these companies as I feel the service so far to be NONEXISTANT.

It would do well for certain companies to understand that while they were the first to do something, it doesn't mean they are always going to be the only ones. I would encourage anyone with the desire or ability to import these vehicle to get off their asses and do the necessary research, fund accrument, and governmental obligations.

Flame away if you like, or PM me. I get sick and tired of hearing how you are stupid or incompetent for suggesting another route to these two companies, especially since they don't seem to want the business. This is an automotive forum, not an advertisement for a few companies in the states. Remember, there are those of us out here with the financial and technical resources to make things happen. I am not an RI nor do I WISH to become one. But, If I cannot find a competent, responsible, and professional company in the US to assist me, times and desires may change.

I would contact RBMotoring directy instead of sending pm's via these forums for starters.

Simply put at the moment there are only two company's you can deal with in the States for these cars LEGALLY. Until that changes they are your only two options.

Now we are not here to advertise for EITHER of them. Unfortunately until something changes where proof is provided I refuse to let anyone submit or post otherwise. This is looking after the end users who wish to own one of these cars LEGALLY in the United States.

No flaming just facts.

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

I tried to end an e-mail directly to RB, however it was returned tome due to "Internet firewall security protocol" either on my end or his. Living in Japan, the e-mail and internet system sometimes does this. So, I perused this board for about a month checking every single thread dealing with the importation issue. I have no doubt that they are legitimate companies, but If they cannot be reached (FOR THE RECORD: E-mails sent to MOTOREX were recieved on that end. RBMotoring for some compter reason or whatever, could not recieve my mails, so I contacted them through the PM feature on this message board).
I have heard may good things about Sean, so this is not a personal bash. Simply put, I come to this board for valid and lucent information. Sometimes, I am able to give it also. When I am told that there are only 2 companies to import through and I have attempted both avenues, a post like mine above has been proven on this board to get the quickes results.
ATTN: Motorex or RB,

I have 6 90-93 R32GTR's and 1 1996 r33GTR which belong to military personell stationed in Japan. They are DUTY FREE and can be shipped via the Military at no cost to the service member. I sent motorex a rather detailed group of questions so as to properly inform my customers of the correct procedure, but as I have previously stated, a response is still pending after over 1 month.
If you are interested in this please contact me, wither through e-mail or via PM. Send a carrier pigeon for all I care. I need to move on this as soon as possible to ensure both myself and my customers have adequate time to prepare the vehicles for exportation/importation.

Thanks for your time,

Mark

UPDATE:

I recieved a mail from Sean today. He was helpful and cordial and I appreciate that greatly. He cannot help me with importation, so that leaves only Motorex, who has yet to respond to my mails. I will resend the original letter to them now.

Sean:
Thank you and no disrespect intended. There is nothing harder in this world than to get an answer from a stone. It is frustrating to be told there is only one way to do something and meet a dead-end every time you try.

Anyone with a contact at Motorex, please pass this along. I simply want to do my job, and to do that, I need them to do theirs.

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

I wish I could help you more on this. They do have fax ability and contact phone numbers. I've phoned MotoRex to speak with Sean when he was there a number of years ago. That is also another option.

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

also...
the issue is not so much in the importation process...
it's in the legalization...
anyone could, and can, do it, but it takes time and money, as well as alot of documentation...
i'm sure sean told you the same things...
but i don't think that anyone is telling you that info, or telling you that it's a waste of time to try another importer/legalizer than these 2 to be a dick...
it's simply b/c there is no other route...

good luck...

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

Thanks for the follow ups. I have talked to Sean and I think I have a course of action now. I have time to sort things out, but I hate getting caught at the last minute with my pants down. I will update everone on this board as things progress.

Well, I did talk to Sean, and if you got a price on legalizing the 33 from him you are pretty good as he is not doing it right now.

2nd, If you bother to look at my profile, I live in JAPAN. That is about 18 hours different. Phone calls are much more difficult since I usually prefer to be asleep at that time. E-mail is the most modern fail safe way of communicating business. If you write it and send it, you can recieve a record, and you remove the chance of human error, as even though one thing may be said, quite a different thing may be heard.

Besides, instead of just popping up a retort that had been previously addressed, a very cool member of this message board called them for me and sent me an e-mail today. Jeff, I don't know your screen name here, but mad props to you. Throw up a quick message here so we can see who you are in AF land. That was major cool what you did for me.

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

Sean at RB is not legalizing skylines at this time. He informed me (and I believe no one here or anywhere else has more info on this than him) that the only course of action AT THIS TIME is to use Motorex. I will be traveling to the states soon on business, and I will resolve my problems with that company while I am there.
No offense taken BTW. This has been a very difficult thing for me lately. I work pretty much 15 hours a day as it is, so believe it or not, the precious few hours I get to spend with my children and wife, as well as resting time, are often more important than trudging to my office at 1 am to make a phone call when e-mail should suffice. I did snail mail Motorex today via registered mail, so that should get the ball rolling before my arrival in the US.

Re: Japanese Dealer Needs Help

alot of people will be legalizing in ten years...

number 1.
the time difference is about 12 hours. so it'd be tough.
number 2.
sean and rb do not legalize. if you had the same info from the other threads that we all have, you'll find that rb gets their cars done by motorex. they're in the process of becoming an RI.
lengthy process...

just a heads up...
