Question 94 Fuel System

Ok truck has a 2.2 When you turn the key the realy does not feed the gas. If you bypass the relay the fuel pump comes on. if you hot wire the relay the fuel pump comes on. What else could be wrong what controls the relay. HELP

Re: No Gas

the only thing that controls the relay is ignition power (when you turn the key on) i know this sounds dumb....but have you tried replacing the relay? from what you said it sounds like you did everything but change it. Let me know.

Re: No Gas

ok, there is another guy having the same problem in the forum, either way....the relay has four wires 1)fuel pump wire, or power output 2)power input 3)ground 4)and a switchable power source (operated by the computer) if you are getting a good ground, and a good power source it must be the wire that comes from the computer ( i think the guy said it was green??) check this wire to see if it get's momentary power when you hit the key....also take your multimeter and check it for resistance (ohm's) hook one end up to the computer end and one on the relay end, you should get a reading of "0" or close to it. if the wire is good i would be looking at the computer, although before you go buy a new one i would see if you can borrow one from a friend's S-10 (make sure it's the same) and you might wanna check out and follow the other post in here, i recently replied to it, i think the tread started is DDjoker maybe, definitly DD something. Hope this helped.
