96 Maxima SE Repair Advice Cont. (Bad Gas Mil. and Sticky gas pedal)
Right to the point - 96 Maxima SE 5spd. 110K. Love it, but took back to the Nissan dealer and had both CV axles replaced, tune up, fuel injector service, and throttle cleaning (something about carbon buildup needing to be cleaned). Well they seem to have fixed the spark knocking sound.
HOWEVER, when I got the car back the throttle (gas pedal) sticks. Not every time, but almost every time when I am traveling any speed (40-mph or greater) and slow down for a stop light and get ready to go again in 1st gear, I have to pump the pedal before engaging gear to unstick it. Its a stick shift, so I feels it could be pretty dangerous.
I have taken it back 2 times already and they keep telling me they think they got it this time, but nope. I don't know what else to do. If I go somewhere else, I have to pay more money. I had always given the dealer the benefit of the doubt, but I am not going back again after this.
Have any idea what it is? Why can't these guys figure it out? I can't believe it would be that hard? I get so angry thinking about it b/c it is such a huge inconvenience and I just spent $900 w/ them.
Also, gas milage is terrible. Could this have anything to do with the throttle position sensor that was discussed in earlier thread? I am trying to think what I have done to the car that could have changed the gas milage. Use to avg. around 27 - 28 mpg, but now, low 20s. How about oil pressure sensor? I replaced that a while back.
