Please POST pictures. I really really want to see, because i been told over and over that it couldn't be done....Altho i believe there is a firebird WS6 near by from were i'm from that might have true duels because its loud as hell and i don't see a basic F-body exhaust making the sound it does.

Re: true duals

Anything can be done dude. I've got true duals on my 3rd gen. All them folks that have told you it can't be done are scared. I was told by a muffler shop that it can't be done because there are no exhaust valleys on the drivers side..what ever. All you have to worry about are the fuel lines, and that's not even a big deal.

i will

this thursday im getting tail pipes added onto my duals because i want to get rid some of the resonance under the car and i miss the look of polished tailpipes...my friend eric has a digital camera that he'll let me use to take a picture of my car....itll be on a lift and ill take it from a few angles so you can see everything...Its true that alot of muffler shops say its not possible to get true duals, i had to convince the muffler shop i went to with a picture of my buddys 98 with true duals, the bad thing about it is that i scrape a little bit every once in a while..not bad tho.

TRUE duals on a third gen? now i know that you can easily do it on 4th gens, but ive never heard of anybody even attempting it on a 3rd gen...i would like to see, just to see how you did it...i have longtubes headers with 3 inch all the way back with a flowtech X-pipe and dynomax bullet racing mufflers....but nice car man, i love the 3rd gen body style much better than the 4th gens, its hard to find a really clean 3rd gen like that...even the front plastic grills are perfect. I just the way gm didn't tie the 5 speed with the 350..just the 305. Although i have heard a rumor of a few rare specimens from i believe 89-92 where chevrolet produced the L98 with the 5 speed...who knows.

Re: true duals

Some of the B4C's had 350's with 5spds. But very few. I'll try to get ahold of a camera next weekend when I have the car up on a lift. Gotta love replacing the springs right? But yeah it can be done. Fortunatly I have a friend that runs a body shop and gives me full run of it on Sundays. I used the Edelbrock TES headers and used the Ypipe to fabricate a custom X pipe. I don't see why people pay so much for these Xpipes when it's so easy to do it yourself. No offence anyone. But I have two 3" pipes running along either side of the tranny and driveshaft into a flowmaster 40 each offeset to the outside with some bent pipe up over the axles. I wrapped every thing in header tape to keep from blowing myself up. Just takes some time and tylonol.

1992RS is right, the only prob with 4th gens is the fuel lines. i've got a '97 z28 and i'm gettin pieces together (pipes, mufflers etc.) to set up a true dual on mine. it's gonna be sweet.

I'm interested to see how you set it up meanlt1z28... what all are you using in the exhaust system?

Re: true duals

I recommend Excedrin over the Tylenol tho.
