Radio doesent work, trunk ground positive ect...

Hello,

My parents bought a 96 taurus for $900 and it has some problems...


First, the radio doesent work, i can get it to work !sometimes! by running a pos (+) wire from the battery and plugging it into one of the clips with the power wire for the system, backpowering the whole system.... anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Second, from what I can tell with my trusty test light.. all of the open metal areas in the trunk, such as the trunk latch, have pos (+) power (found by using a neg(-) wire from battery through test light to anywhere w/open metal in the trunk and the light lights) i will also note that there are 4 (i think) wires going to a "grounding" point ont he left side by the amp and cd changer and when disconeccted, they all also have pos power along with the place the bolt goes into... this has me confused...


Third, does anyone know where the "Computer Module" is? it is supposto have the original pin number for the door taped to it... but no book i have says where it is (the card whas nowhere to be found when we got the car)

you will need to replace the transmission range sensor(use to known as the nuetral switch) it is located om the drivers directly attached to the transmission. This sensor is common for multiple electrical problems when it starts to go bad from stereo sound going out in drive or reverse ,power steering loss, and to seatbelt light coming on.
you will also need to purchase the alighnment tool from etoolcart.com
