Overly active trac control light...
I've a 2000 grand am with the 2.4 engine, auto ect. pretty much a plain jane of a car.
I have a problem with the traction control light coming on even when I'm on dry pavement. For instance I can back out of my parking space( it's all head-on parking at my apartment complex and the light will come on and at times the brakes will grab. The alignment is correct ,the air pressures are right, and the Dealer says it's a faulghty sensor. Is this a common fault and is it someone can replace themselves? |

Overactive traction control
Dude,
I had the same exact issue with my '99 Grand AM SE. All you need to do is tighten the SWAY BAR END-LINK BUSHINGS. This worked for me. |

Re: Overly active trac control light...
Or you could believe the dealers and have it fixed "properly". Did the dealer scan your computer to come up with that diagnosis?

traction control
Actually,The dealer didn't scan my computor, they sugessted I check the bushings for proper tork, I found the end-links to be loose, now the only time my traction control light comes on is if the wheel are spinning due to snow or when I peel out.
