Can you run without Vtec?

i'm getting my d16y8 swap done, i don't want to spend money on apexi vtec controller right at this minute cuz i don't have the money. My question is....we're going to use the pm6 ECU, and i was wondering if i could just drive around without vtec for a couple days? or will this ruin my engine?

oh, and as for beating on it, do you mean...don't like keep bringing it to red line? i usually only drive in the 2k-3k rpm's due to my apexi n1 being too loud.

yeah...that's what I meant...honesly, I really cant see it causing any problems even if you did....but...just to be safe

I have the d16y8 on my crx. I didn't have a vtech controller at first either. I doubt it'll mess anything up but you never know. I didn't drive it until I got the controller. If I were you, drive only when you really have too.

yea u can drive with out vetc, i drove with a b16 for 2 weeks revin it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
