Temperature Sensor...Where, What?
I had a diagnostic test done yesterday and one of the things they told me I needed was the temperature sensor that controls my "fan", as the fan behind the rad is running constantly. Problem is I don't have a freakin' clue where that is? Is that actually what it is called...just the temperature sensor or is there another name for it?

There are two of them. One is behind the upper radiator hose and one is on the back of the block. I think the one near the hose is the fan control. I dunno what the one in back does. I took that bitch out of my '78 Civic and put an aftermarket gauge and my fan and shit still worked

the sensor on the back of the block with the two female banana plug connector is the temperature activated fan switch which controls your cooling fans. (On 92+ engines, this is located on the thermostat housing)
the temperature sending unit is located on the passenger's side of the head |

it sounds like maybe your fan switch is fried. How it works is it connects the circuit to turn on the fan when it reaches a certain temp.
How you wire up the fans direct is to unplug the plugs and jumper them together, so if the fan is staying on the whole time, its either wired up direct or your switch is shorted out or something, although i've never herad of this happening. usually the fans will never turn on.. |

Ok...one last question (i think)...would the sensor on a d15b2 and a d15b1 be the same? because I have a b1 in the car right now...and I just took out the b2...if I could just use the one that was in there before the swap and save the $50 for now that would be great...also, why would someone wire the fan direct?
