i just bought a 95 rivvy and it needs a new motor, i was reading up on riviera's and i have come to find out that the 1998 rivvy was supercharged but it was stocked with 240 horses, the rivvy i have is supercharged with 225 horses and i was wondering if i could buy a 98 rebuilt engine and bolt it in or would i have to make modifications ...?
also the supercharger on this car makes a noise not loud but if you have the ear you will notice it like it is dry does this mean that i need another or does this just mean it needs oil this is my first supercharger.. if it is just an oil problem what kind of oil do i put in it and suggestions or should i just go to pep boys and ask them... one more thing are there any suggestions on performance modifications that might help me get more horsies.... thanx all. |

Re: rebuilt motor
Your 95 Riv engine is different from the 98 engine! It can be done but I believe the wiring harness are different. The computers are different! It all comes down to how much you want to spend for the extra 15HP. I don't think the price and time is worth the minor HP pickup.
Your supercharger has oil in it and should be changed , it is a special oil and you can buy it at any dealer(this way you get the right oil for the supercharger).
