bottoming out and scraping soudns in new suspension
i installed my tokico hp shocks and tokico high performance springs 1.25-1.5 inch drop but i'm having a couple problems. when i push down on the car on the rear driver's side i get a kind of scraping squeeking sound, when i do the driver's front i get the same only not as bad. also when i'm driving, the passenger front bottoms out sometimes, and i think the rear is doing it to, but it could just be the crap in my trunk jumping around.
i still have yet however to get an alignment b/c i have to replace my tie rods and i'm doing the ball joints and axles wtih them. and the wheels are offset right now; they are both pushed back in the wheel well and the driver's side is somewhat cocked out at the bottom. so that may solve it but i don't know, any suggestions?

Re: bottoming out and scraping soudns in new suspension
I didn't think it was necessary to do this for a minor drop but did you cut your bumpstops. Get that alignment done and get those parts changed its only gonna cause you more problems in the future. Tire wear, more worn parts etc.

Are you sure you put the right springs in the right places? If you have the rear spring in the front then the weight may cause it to bottom out if it's not stron enough.

Re: bottoming out and scraping soudns in new suspension
The scraping sound could also be your suspension bushings squeeking more than they used to. When I first lowered my car 2.5" on Suspension Technique springs with Koni Yellows and backed out my driveway over the curb thing I thought I had killed my suspension but it was just the 13 year old rubber bushings. The bottoming out sounds like what Feelfast suggested....did you cut your bumpstops? How hard are you hitting bumps when you bottom out?

Re: bottoming out and scraping soudns in new suspension
i did cut my bump stops, cut them in half. i don't have to go very fast for them to bottom out, even like 5-10 mph. i also kinda feel and hear some squeeking when i go around turns quickly. i just expected my ride to feel better changing out my old ass shocks and it feels the same if not worse. oh and the bottoming out affects the back more than the front.

by chance, does it sound like stuffs flying up and down in ur hatch when it bottoms out? mine does that when it hit bumps, could be the suspension being stiff, might need to be broken in a bit

Re: bottoming out and scraping soudns in new suspension
i kinda hear what sounds to be stuff moving in my trunk, but i figured it was loose stuff in my trunk... so could it just need to be broken in, and then it will stop bottoming out?
