there are a couple dohc d series engines... the d16a8 (zc) which came in the jdm si's and the d18a9 which came in the 88-89 us tegs (and others I'm sure)... the zc is a bolt-in swap to the 88-91 chassis....the a9 is a bolt in swap to the 3rd gen civics/1st gen crx's...

all USDM 1g tegs, be it 86-87 or 88-89, had the D16A1 engine, not D16A9.

Re: DOHC d-series motor?

The Aussie late model ED CRXs had a DOHC D series motor as did the 5th gen Si Civics. They are really just the ZC with upgraded ECUs.

Cheers

Re: DOHC d-series motor?

lol Gav - what year is your 'rex anyway? I'm sure the ZC was in the '88s and then it went to D16 DOHC, but have heard otherwise
