Look at Audi a4 1.8t quatro used. Much better than mitzubishi junk.
My son drove a AWD eclipse, had to have the engine rebuilt and new transmission in only 55k miles. He was not hard on the car he just drives a long way to work and back. His new Audi is much much better in the snow and rain than the Mitzi ever was. Just my humble opinion

There's the awd versions of the 3000GT and Dodge Stealth.
There's the Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (165hp) that started in 1998 but its rare. ITs an awesome car from what I understand. BMW 325ix 1990 (up to $9000, 168hp) Audi 90 Quatro 2-dr Coupe ($8000, 164hp) That's about all I can come up with for around $15k

Dont forget that Mazda 323 GTX. You have to be willing to invest some money to make it truly super fast (its 0-60 is 8.1 sec). But is is 4wd, is based on the rally car, and in 89 Road and Track gushed all over (I have the issue). And, an excellent one will be about 5 grand. Put a few more into it, and you have a low 6 second 0-60. Lose some weight, and you are faster still. 200hp is not a problem, just the tranny might have some problems with that much power. Its not a looker, but then, its a sleeper, and really an amazing car. Check out www.reichracing.com for some more info.
Of course, the stealth is an excellent choice if you want looks, but you probably won't find a Turbo model that cheap, and they aren't that super in the snow. |

the audi is a good choice.. but the old gsx's are really good.. and cheap..
the 3000gt vr4 is awd, if you can find an older one.. you'll love it.. twin turbo 326hp.. it's heavy as all hell though . and for whomever was talking about the 2.5 rs.. it looks nice, but go drive one.. my buddy was all excited about his cool perfect turning car.. and i spun it out first time.. he told me to take this corner at 45 cause he does all the time.. and it spun like a bitch for me.. but it is an ok car other than that .. so audi.. 3kgt gsx |
