How to replace back seat release cable?

I have a '97 Tahoe. While I was trying to release the back seat to fold it down for transporting some large items the cloth loop separated from the rest of the cable assembly at the cable swage. I picked up a new cable but have been unable to get the seat out to replace the cable assembly. Need some advice. This seat is split into a one and two seater and its the two seater that has the broken release.
Thanks.

Re: How to replace back seat release cable?

I know this is old, but I have the SAME problem. Would the dealer have this cable? and does anyone know HOW to replace it? I've been using needle nose plyers!
