EGR Flow Insufficient
Check engine light stays on continuously on my 1996 Ford Conversion Van. Had the codes pulled and the code was P0 401 - EGR Flow Insufficient. Where is the EGR valve located on this vehicle? Also, what else you I check before replacing the EGR valve?

Re: EGR Flow Insufficient
this is a very common problem on fords. it is probably not the valve giving you a problem. you should remove the throttle body and clean out the egr passages with throtle body cleaner and some sort of small brush. make sure all of the air passages in it are clean

Re: EGR Flow Insufficient
My understanding and experience is that if the EGR valve is messed up, ya might as well clean or replace the idle air controll motor...I can tell ya where both are on a Ford F150, but on a van
I must take a zero. Good luck!!
