Bought 2 new kits today!

Well, come on! I had to!
This beauty I have been after for a while! Had to seize it whislt I could! Thanks for telling me it was in Steve!

And this is the latest Subaru from Tamiya!
A lovely kit, very similar to the previous 1998 Scooby I did! The body looks awesome, with very pronounced bulges on the sides! I could see a great road car from mixing the road/race versions of this model!
I shall build the rally car though, as it will go great with the '98 Monte version.
Both of these I shall spray immediately, ready for assembly when I am in Oz!

Ah,so you also paid a visit to The Model Shop today. I went in today and noticed that the Skyline had gone, so thought you had perhaps been in. Of course, while I was there I also picked up the Subaru.

That's it!!!

If I happen to see that suby rally around my way, I'm picking it up and building it, street version. I can't take all the abuse!

Why not buy the road car, then?

Wong from mediamix said all sorts of stuff is coming out for them, including an engine! Debating whether to wait for them!
Part of me says I want to be the first here to make it! With Xmas here I Could really get on with it!

If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't come equipped with the body features of the one pictured above. Am I wrong in this assumption?

So you want the rally car kit to build without decals to look like a super-modified street car?

I just didn't get if you were going to try and make a factory-stock WRX from that kit; that would be a lot of work!

Not really jay. I've got a lot of experience in model building and can pretty much turn that thing to a monster truck if I wanted to.(Not that I would, mind you ) But to have that body type and maybe go do some outrageous paint job, maybe some metallic with candy colors would be nice. Rims, would have to shop around and see what I like. Drop it, I think it would make a great street machine. The way I have it pictured in my head would be wicked.

Thumbs up

Dan,
perhaps they had only just come when you visited, when I went in around 4.00pm ish they had two more on the shelf, I'm glad you picked up the Skyline and that I wasn't seeing things.

DVSNCYNIKL,
If you wanted to go for the road going rally car look, possibly you could buy the rally car and road car kits and amalgamate both together, using the interior of the road car and the body etc. of the rally car,...possibly!!!!????

Steve

I told them I have a few mates who want em, that would help!
You weren't working today then? Or was it part of the rounds?
Yeah, snapped up the Skyline! Had to, well rare!
I also fancied another EVO 6, but had to exercise some retraint!

That is also a possibility that I will consider. My main goal is the body aesthetics more than the interior. But all things considered, I have to wait and see if it's out over here. Not that I am in a rush to do this. Just something that if it comes across, I would like to partake.

Come to think of it, maybe the interior of the road one might have some advantages. I'm going for a tricked out look, who knows, maybe I can sell it afterwards.
