2nd gear only

I own a 93 4x4 suburban with a 5.7 liter engine. The transmission is stuck in 2nd and no codes are indicated. I had replaced the filter 2 weeks prior to this issue. I think that it is either the speed sensor or the 2-3 solenoid. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I have a 93 x-cab 4x4 with the similar problem eccept mine is stuck in 3rd gear. I can shift manually between 2 and 3 but will not go to 1 or 4, even manually. I would say that it might be your 3-2 down shift silonoid not to be confused with the 2-3 or 1-2 up silonoid. I dont know if this helps but worth a guess. Also behind glove box there is a white box held on by velcro with a harness plugged into it.(left side of behind glove box which can be removed in 1 min 2 screws and 2 straps) this box has a module that has something to do with tranny and is known to go bad. Little white box will open and inside is a module board this might be the problem. Worth looking into. Hope this helps.
