frequently fried alternator

My alternator on my 1996 LT went out about a month ago, so I bought a remanufactured one from Kragen and changed it out. Unforntunately, so far I have had to replace the rebuilt one four times over the last month. Luckily it has a decent warranty, but I can't figure out if Kragen just sold me bad parts or if there is something else wrong with the electrical system. Does anybody know what else could be frying the alternator(s)?

i fried mine on my '96 too. no one told me exactly what did it, but i just figured it was my aftermarket sound system with the amps and subs and all. i got mine replaced at the dealer and havent had problems since.
