Frying Alternators!!
Hi all, I bought a 90 civic hb 2 months ago and replaced the ALTERNATOR. It ran for aprox 1 month and a week or so, now the BATT light is on. Why would the car burn ALTERNATORS?

Re: Frying Alternators!!
A few things could be a bad battery, or poor wiring. Both can shorten the life of an alternator. Bad voltage regulators on the alternator cause issues as well. If the battery holds a low charge, the alternator constantly has to try and charge. Also, there are some inferior brands out there that are pretty much junk. Where did you get your replacement from?

Re: Frying Alternators!!
make sure your batt terminals are clean, and that your grounds are good also.
