K&N question?

I just bought a 95 STE 2wd with the 4.3 Vortec V-6. It has 67,000 on it and I was wondering what my best options are as far as air induction mods. What would be the best bang for my buck? K&N filter? Cold air induction kit? I cold really use some help on this one.

Re: K&N question?

It's been a while since you posted your question, so I don't know if you still need an answer, but I'll give you one anyway. I don't know too much about induction kits, but on the K&N air filter, it really depends on your driving habits. I don't know what you are trying to accomplish with your mods, but if you are sinking a lot of money into your engine, I wouldn't go with a K&N. If you want something that really works good for me I used to use the Moroso air filters. Seemed to get the best air. But if you just want a standard K&N to put on a daily driver, they are okay as long as you don't mind recouping your money after you would normally throw the old one away twice. Plus you have to clean it. But all in all, they are okay. Better than Fram anyway, except that they feel lighter and look like they won't stop the dirt.

on street&strip, the cleaning is a little of a pain till you figure out a system, i pull and clean, then do the rest of my service work by then

Re: K&N question?

Right on, Comp. I've heard good things about that. I'm glad you mentioned it. I totally forgot about it. And the great thing is that once you do get it figured out, it becomes so simple.
