dumb k&n question

when you buy a k&n filter do you need to buy the recharge kit too right away or is it already set to go? Also I see fram makes an air hog anyone use it?

when u buy a new k&n filter it is good untill it gets dirty. i usually recharge mine at 25k miles. you dont need to use the recharge kit untill it get dirty.

its mostly gonna be a noise/gas difference, its like .05whp lol you'll never feel it

yeah the more aire youe cars gets the better teh a/f ratio so your car runs on a lil more air and a lil less gas

did you put your filter in the plastic cone cover or take the plastic cone cover off out? I took the air resonator out so hopefully its getting air

I have an Iceman w/ a vut airbox, the s/r never came w/ the lower resonator, but on my old Z i removed it

I had a 5-speed 1998 Escort until last week. When i put in the K&N air filter, I saw no appreciable gas mileage increase. Additionally, my acceleration on level ground seemed unchanged. The one thing I did notice, though, was that the car seemed to be willing to go up hills a bit more easily and in higher gears than before. Of course it's hard to tell on these things without, say, a dyno.

in another post I have noticed the same thing you mention A little more throttle responce when I attempt to pass on the highway.
