How do I know...?

I'm about to buy a remote start kit for my truck and I keep seeing stuff about bypass modules for GM vehicles equipped with Passlock. At the risk of sounding stupid, how do I know if my truck is equipped with Passlock. I don't think it is, but I want to be sure. I have a 96 S-10 ZR2. Thanks

Not sure about your vehicle but my keys have an embedded resistor that you can see in them. It looks like a small bump about an eighth of an inch by a 1/4" with contacts on both sides.
