1996 ford taraus with 3.0 dohc
my taraus has a problem of either blowing the fuel pump maxi fuse or just dying at times , it seems if you leave the car alone for a few hours and try starting it, it starts. the car runs great except when it decides to do this... it happens sometimes a few times a day or it won't happen for months...any suggestions????

I don't know about the fuse problem, without doing diagnostics. But it may also be the Idle Air Control. It will have trouble idling amd us usually intermittent. If it won't idle then tap on it with a hammer, if it runs fine then replace it. This is VERY common.
You may have a bad fuel pump or relay on top of that. Hope I pointed you in the right direction. |
