Re: rb experianced swappers

well im not "experienced" but i know that you need the mckinney mount kit to keep the twin turbos, and replacing your radiator for an aftermarket one is definitly a must on any swap ...

Re: rb experianced swappers

No Its Not Essential To Upgrade The Radiator... The Stock Radiator Cools Enough.

Re: rb experianced swappers

yeah ok... you go ahead and put a bigger motor, more cylinders, turbo, 100 more hp stock, in with the ka radiator... and then why dont you up the boost a little bit? im sure it cools enough.

Re: rb experianced swappers

I Did And It Does..... Dumbass!

I Have A Ka Radiator Pair With A Perma-cool 2950cfm Fan And I Have Ran It In Arizona 110 Degree Weather And It Never The Third Bar On Stock Gauge. So You Can Say What You Want, But You Have No Experience With These Engines.

Btw: If You Do Get A Better Radiator Get A Copper One.

Re: rb experianced swappers

Why the resorting to name calling? I swear the maturity level on most forums is just rediculous.

I may not have personal experience with these engines ... or sr's. But i have done my research. And from everyone who i have personally spoken with about engine swaps in general, who have experience with these motors, i was always told that putting an aftermarket radiator with electric fans is something you should 100% no doubt about it do.

So you calling me a "dumbass" is rather immature.

Btw may i see pictures of your car/engine bay? Just interested.

Also this is off topic, why do you capatilize every word? that is kind of weird... jw

anyways, in my opinion, if your going to swap an rb, dont cut corners, do it right. But hey maybe thats just me being a dumbass and all.

Re: rb experianced swappers

Ok I'm Sorry About The Dumbass Part, I Just Hate When People Say Shit And Have No Experience In It. People Put In Aftermarket Radiators Because They Have Plans To Go Big So They Do Most Of The Stuff Early. Yes It Is Good Preventative Upgrade Like Fuel Pumps And Such But It Is Not Nessecary. Electric Fans Are A Must With These Swaps Because Clutch Fans Don't Fit.

Sorry About The Name Calling, Once Again I Just Get Agitated With People Speaking With No Experience.

I'm At Work So I Have To Type In Caps (data Entry W/ Special Keyboards So I Have No Control) This Forum Converts It To How You See It.

I'll Have A Whole Bunch Of Picture Soon. I'm Trying To Hold Off On Showing Them Until The Car Is Complete.

Re: rb experianced swappers

I understand... its cool. I hate when people say "stupid" shit because they have no experience. Upgrading your radiator can never be considered "stupid" lol

Cool i can't wait to see pics... btw what rb you have ?

Re: rb experianced swappers

Rb20det, But The Boost Is Uped And It Ran For 6 Hours Stright At 4500rpm. Ran On The Street For 50 Miles At A Maximum Speed Of 90 Mph.

No The Radiator Thing Isn't Stupid But Saying That It Is Required Is.

I Have A Rb25de Also And I'll Be Boosting That If No One Buys It Soon.

Re: rb experianced swappers

The stock radiator will cool with no problems even when you have 400hp...HP ratings don't affect the displacement of your engine or how much water it is pushing, therefore, a stock RB that uses about 3 gallons of fluid does not use 4 gallons of fluid at 400hp...My engine has never overheated using my stock KA radiator...

Another common misconception: bigger and thicker is better....not true. When cooling comes to mind, the easiest way to do so is with a thin radiator that is tall and wide. Reason being that water that is less dense is easier to cool...all of the new Nissans now have thinner and wider radiators...just to paint a picture for you guys....if you have a cup of coffee and let it sit, it will take quite a while to cool down, however, if you poor that coffee onto a plate, it will cool down much quicker because it is spread out.
