Check all of your fuses, your starter cables, and your altenator. Other than that, I don't have a forken clue either.

Re: 1997 Camaro Wont start

it's a bad starter...

do this...

with the hood up, stand over the passenger fender. have someone turn the key to start it, and listen for "clicks".

1. If you hear it click many times, then the starter is not the problem. You'll have to come back and let me know, and I'll have something else for you to try...

2. If you hear 1 click, and nothing else, then chances are it's a mechanical failure of the starter. For example, I had one that broke the gear shaft once. The solenoid on the starter is smart enough to know, that if it feels no pressure from the flywheel, it will quit trying. With a broken shaft, the gear never hit the flywheel, and so it would tick one time and quit, (per key turn). If you do only hear this one tick, pull the starter and tip it up and down, if the gear if sliding around freely, that's your problem. You could also run it to autozone or advanced auto for a free test. If it's broke, get a new one...

3. If you don't hear any clicks at all, check the wires to your starter to make sure they are secure. If they are, and it still won't click, you probably have a burn up starter solenoid. Take the starter off, and run it down to an advanced auto or auto zone, and they will test if for free. If it's broke, get a new one...

Hope this helps...
