Angry Any suggestions on improving performance on my'79 Camaro?

I have a '79 Camaro:Berlinetta. It has 130hp stock, and theres not many performance modifcations to it.

I'm in auto class at my school and we get to work on cars and stuff and so far I've only replaced air filter. I'm getting a street scoop soon to replace the air cooler, and I have a 4 barrel carburator and intake to put on it. I have the stock exhaust wich is ''Dual" but isnt true duals, but I'm going to get those eventually also.My engine size is a 305, and I'm getting a job soon so I will be saving mostly all of that for a supercharger.

But dose anyone elese have any suggestions for me to gain a few hp here, a few hp there could you please tell me? I'm told a fucking 93 Chevy Lumina with a V6 could give me ''a run for my money.'' and I would be ashamed if it ever did...

Well lets see here. Before you start throwing intakes and caberators and superchargers on your engine you need to make a plan. All the bolt on high air/fuel flow parts arent' going to do you much good if it can't get into your cumbustion chamber. You need to get a good cam. You probably have a solid mechanicle cam, you can get a really good one from jegs, that in it's self will wake your engine up. But to be perfectly honest with you, for the year of car you have I would throw in at least a 350. But if you want to keep the 305 come talk to me, and if you have enough money to do it, I'll tell you all about getting some HP's under your hood.

Yeah I have this cam picked out of the Jegs magazine. Its low tourqe and has smooth idle. At least thats what it tells me. Its $109, and Im still working on figuring out what eles I need to change when I change cams. I got timeing belt/chain cober and gears and such....But yeah, thanks I'll talk to you when I get my stuff or have another question.

You don't want a low torque cam. You want as much torque as you can get. Especialy if your gonna put a blower on it. I would go with Jegs part number 638-40208 it's 145 bucks and a really good cam. Not overly egressive and very far from being whimpy. Besides, who ever heard of a blown camaro with a smooth idle?? This one will let em know you meen buisness.
