Performance tires on the csvt any suggestions?

I understand the stock tire size on the 99 contour svt is
215-50-r16, i currently have 205-55-r16 winter tires
but am looking to get ready for spring.
Im looking into a pair of nexus 215-40-r16 and my most important question is can i go to a 40 or is that too low-pro and will thro things off? If so what tire would you recomend? ive heard good things about the fuzion zri? and hankook ventus HRll 405h ...thanx

40 series are way to low. Youll look like you have rubber bands on your tires, not to mention, the wheel gap you have will look pretty bad. Stick with the stock size. Both the fuzions and hankooks are good tires.
