Code: 1165

Does any know what the code 1165 is and how to solve the problem? I have a 01, JettaVR6 with GIAC chip and AEM cool air intake installed..it worked fine for the first year.but recently, i encountered the emission malfunction problem...i asked the dealer about the code, they replied "throttle valve failed" what does that mean? Can anyone help me on this,,very urgent, should I put my original intake back to my jetta and see if the light goes off? or..another way around?? Thx!

Re: Code: 1165

I'm not familiar with that code number, but the throttle actator failure is a fairly common problem w/VR6's. Since the mods have been on a year or so I doubt the problem is due to them. It's not that hard to do ,but when replacing this unit it must be "re-introduced" to the computer using a specialized scan tool (most scanners cannot do it) and the part is dealer only too. Bite the bullet & let them do it.
