Bronco II Engine Swap

I was wondering if any of you would know whether or not I could swap a 3.8L V6 from an 89 Lincoln into an 84 Bronco II? I have one with only 500 miles on a rebuild and I'd like to throw it in the Bronco, so if it would be possible, let me know. Thanks a lot.

FAR from definitive....

But as far as I know, they aren't mechanically equivalent. I have an 89 linc and an 85 BII, and I'd love to do the same. FMY 84-86 are pretty similar, but the FMY87-89 were just different. The differences between my 85BII and 87 Big Bronc even prohibit. (Of course, we're talking about cramming the 302 in place of the 2.8 in that case.)

First off, the Linc's V6 is transverse. You'd have to jury rig the mounts to get it forward-facing in the truck. (As far as I will guess.) Then there's the controller problem. Which "brain-box" do you use? The BII's isn't designed for the 3.8, and the Lincoln's has much more stuff in it than the truck actually has...

I'd love to hear from someone who's more familiar, but I relegate dreams of this nature to my "never gonna actually happen" board.
