89 G.Caravan Engine
Recently while driving on the freeway the engine lost power and got alot louder, as if the exhaust had a leak, and then died. Tried to crank it over and it acted as the battery were dead. So i left it and let it sit on the side of the road for several house until i got back to it and got a jump. The engine tried to crank and made a noise what i call the screaming dog. as in metal agaist metal. Then it stopped cranking completely. So the neaxt day, today, we towed it home and tried to turn the engine with the crank pulley bolt. It didn't move, tried turning both directions. But did manage to get the bolt out without a AirCompressor... also took all the plugs out, incase it had a blown head gasket/cracked head or what now. So i figure the engine is history! I was woundering what all would have to be done to drop a 1991 3.0L engine into my caravan and if it is a direct repacement to my current 3.0, such as engine mounts and trans hookup, ECM/PCM, and what not.
