1.4L renault engine specs?

what is the hp and torque rating for this engine?
I have one with 40K on it. I'm trying to make it something I can race with against my cousins 1.5L colt. (I know it's weak but it would still be a good daily driver)

Which 1.4 ? on which car ? Clio ? Scénic ? Mégane ? or on an older car ? There are currently many 1.4 :
Clio :
1.4 16v 98hp
Mégane II and Scénic II (except convertible CC) :
1.4 16v 80hp and 98hp

Ouh !!! Alliance ? isn't it the old Renault 11 or 9 ? .... mhhh, I don't really know alas. I can't help you. I'd say about 70hp, but I'm not sure.

alliance is also called super cinque...correct me if i'm wrong. the 1.4 of that time has 63 hp. the automatic has 68hp.
But it is very hard to kill those engines...so you could race you cousin...

Re: 1.4L renault engine specs?

Supercinq was the European super version of the R5, or Le Car. Alliance was the R9, and the 1.4L in America had ~55 HP.

Re: 1.4L renault engine specs?

Supercinq succedeed to the Cinq (R5) called LeCar in the USA.
The Renault onze (11) and Renaulf neuf (9) were called Encore and Alliance in the USA.

Look there for French cars in the USA : http://www.autotitre.com/forum/Sujet...47_30696p1.htm from the Renault Floride to the Citroën XM
