94 Camaro 3.4L Service Engine Soon Light On

Codes 76 & 77 (EGR SOl #2, #3) were pulled by the dealership. They cleaned the digital EGR (3-way solenoid-electric type), EGR stand pipe and flexible pipe connecting to the intake manifold, the IAC Valve and the throttle intake, and fuel induction cleaning performed. After one year the same problem occured again. I don't want to pay another $500 so I did everything exactly what the dealer did. During the inspection and cleaning found a little bit of carbon. Even changed the leaking EGR stand pipe gasket. SES light still on whenever you're deccelerating. Anyone with the same experience?

Re: 94 Camaro 3.4L Service Engine Soon Light On

yeah thats normal, carbon build up occurs from regular driving, and will clog up the EGR valve in the solenoid, holding it open, or sometimes closed. a fix for this is sometimes an egr gasket with a screen in it to keep the carbon out of the solenoid.
