Question Hotshot or GReaddy (S14) headers??????

Hello all my 240 friends!!!!

Well I'm keeping the KA24DE ('97 240SX) and have a plan to make it one bad ass machine but will do it in phases. Headers are next on the list so what are your feeling on Hotshot and GReddy?
Hotshot are the 4-2-1 and a little effort to install from what I've read.
The GReddy are 4-1 and said to be a better fit with a little better performance.
I'm looking at the TOTAL picture here folks so please advise your experience with these if you had the "homework" before purchase and installation. Not to interested in the cost because they are close if you know where to buy.

Thanks, Merry Christmas and Ho Ho Ho,
mxd6 - Houston,TX

IMO, go with the hotshot headers. I've heard nothing but good about them. I think Dayna on this site has them so she may have some more input. I've never been too impressed with Greddy products, but that's just me.

4-1 are more full race
4-2-1 are more streetable

that's what i heard, i think the 4-1 loses a lot more low end torque then a 4-2-1

Re: Hotshot or GReaddy (S14) headers??????

his exact words.....

well greddy is carb legal and doesnt remove cat hotshot isnt legal and removes cat

greddy midrange to high power, hotshot highend power

hotshot has a kickass sound, greddy has a higher pitch

greddy 2 piece, hotshot 1 piece

well i like the sound better on hotshot, and looks like to me a stronger header

greddy is light its stainless steel but i think its weaker cause its stainless steel

in the end.....hotshot

Re: Hotshot or GReaddy (S14) headers??????

GReddy is not 2 piece, its just the 4-1 design that bolt right back up to the factory downpipe/Cat. converter unit.
The reason of why so many complains about the GReddy unit crack is not because it is Stainless Steel, its just wrong type of SS; they use 304 Stainless, which is fine for piping and such but can't withstand high heat as exhaust manifold. 321Stainless will be a different story.

IMO I will stay Hotshot, but seriously I won't spend my money on header. just my 2cents
