Please Help Remove Radio On A 1996 Passat

Hi I need some help with my girl friends 1996 Passat could u get me started on how to remove the radio from the mounting? Im not sure what kinda tool to use n where to stick it I see the holes on the sides of the radio but there not at the same places on each side.... one side there is a square in the top right coner n then the other side theres a square on the bottem left conner then on each side theres a rectangle i hope u understand n could help any thing helps right now once i get the damn radio out i should be ok.

did you search the internet or check the owner's manual? or try going to straus, pep boys or ??? and look for a passat manual from haynes or chilton and steal a PEEK?

that's your best bet.

failing that get some small sharp tools and try poking in there (carefully) as 99% of the time is just a metal
catch that needs to be pushed out of the way.
