please help monsoon radio problem friend cut harness into back of radio

ok so my friend was trying to hook up a cd player and in the process thought it would be a good idea to cut the factory plug out? well i have done 100+ radio installs and i know to never do that well its in a 2001 grand am gt i;ve looked up the diagrams and re connected all the wires and all it will do is pop up the clock if you hit the tuner button in, ok so i swapped the dark greens around and the same thing happened both ways i tried it would eject the cd and makes a popping staticy noise but wont power on and i've checked the fuses on both sides of the dash and theyare all good. so any help would be appreciative, thanks

Sounds like you dont have the power wires properly connected.
try this site for wire diagrams.
