Drag Radials vs. Slics
Can someone explain the difference of these to me? I plan to get one of the two at some point for when I go to the track, but I was just wondering what the pros and cons of each are. Thanks.

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
basically from what I get what others say is that basically, drag radials are DOT approved drag tires that you can run on the street and slicks are not street legal

slicks also give much better grip.

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
ya bud slicks for race strip only...but you can get drag radials and use them for the track may not grab as good if you have a lot of torque but they are also able to ride around the street if you wanted to go mess with a few v8's

Depends what rules you race under. If you have to have DOT legal tires then you run them, if not you go for full race tires.

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
Also, slicks will probably cause axle problems if ou are making a decent amount of power.

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
Cool, thanks guys.
How much more traction do drag radials have vs. street tires? And would it be bad to have drags on in the rain?

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
I think drag radials have the worst wet weather grip rating out of all tires.

Re: Drag Radials vs. Slics
DOT drag tires are not made for wet traction so its just stupid to drive with them in bad weather. full slicks would have the worst wet grip, again they're not desinged for that.
If you use DOT drags or slicks, its HIGHLY recommend you upgrade the axles. |

falken azenis...great all around track/street tire. great for drag, autoX, or street. plus they come in a bunch of sizes and are dirt cheap.
