Car Chimes

I am a new owner of a 97 GTP. It has 116000 miles and runs great, no problems at all. Today as i was driving it started chiming, four chimes and it did it about 6 times. It did not chime when i was parked, but when i started driving agian, it started chiming again. I parked and looked this up in my manual but coundnt find anything. If anyone knows what this might be, please respond. Thanks.

Re: Car Chimes

Was your trunk lid open? Mine will chime like that when you're driving if the trunk is popped.

If you check and your trunk is closed. Then check that there are no loose cables/latches on the doors and trunk mechanisms.

Re: Car Chimes

It snowed yesterday and i had to open my trunk, when i closed it, snow must have caused it to not close all the way.

Re: Re: Car Chimes

Yeah well, I had the same problem. I still don't know how my trunk got popped unless I accidentally hit the button on my remote or something. I kept hearing the chime, and for some reason I looked at my DIC, and the trunk open indicator was flashing. Pulled over, shut the trunk, and problem solved. I felt kind of stupid, though.
