Well it was friday and a buddy was with me in the rex. We raced a couple people, 97 SVT Cobra - we both jumped in 2nd and he killed me, probably by 3-4 cars by the middle of 3rd. Then I raced an 89 Iroc-Z camaro. He thought he was hot shit with his exhaust and girlfriend in the car. I looked at him and they laughed.... I revved it up a little so he could hear me (we're going about 30) and then he took off. He had a little jump but it didn't take to long for me to pass him by about a car then I stopped a little into 3rd. There's always cops out and about 4 street racing tickets are given out a night. It's a pretty small town so the cops get to know you pretty good. I hate people that think b/c your driving a honda that its slow. They're so F****** ignorant!!! Oh by the way his girl was flipping us off the rest of the night

Yea man i agree with you, when saying people who hate on Hondas or call them slow.
Me and my friend were driving down the road in his 99 SUnfire GT with basic bolt ons. We get up next to this guy and his girl in a early 90's V6 RS, he turns to his girl and laughs, (also says something to her). He had some kinda of flowmaster exhaust so it sorta sounded like the IROC.
We find a light and he gives a little rev, we nailed it at the light and he keeps up with us thought 1st and 2nd gear but we pull by him after that by about 4 cars.
We tried to slow down and let him get next to us, but he stayed back there. Then after a few mins he did a fly by and took off.
He was probably to embarrased, lol.

They think Hondas are slow because many of them are. Most dont go beyond H/C/I and then go looking for stangs and f-bodies to race.

I dont bother racing Civics since I have nothing to prove, unless the driver/car is a complete ricer then I wouldnt mind embarrasing him. I have seen some nice ones that I wouldnt mind running though.

bone stock hondas are slow....but you gotta remember that its only a 4 cylinder....with a gsr in the 15's and a 03 mustang in the 14's its only a second im not too impressed...if honda made a v8 sports car i bet it would be very fast...just look at the s2000 it could probaly take a gt(correct me if im wrong) and thats only a 4 cylinder......i was at the track and i saw stock s2000 runnin around 14 flat...not too bad for a naturally aspirated 4 banger...

ONLY a second!! to be that much faster takes a lot of power, i read an article where a guy ran 11.1 in his transam and then added 125 shot of nitrous and ran 10.3 he didn't even gain a full second even with a 125hp shot a second is a huge difference, also S2000's aren't that fast they have high hp 240 but low tq 161 they are neat cars but not terribly fast i think it would be a close race against a newer mustang GT, up here i have seen 2 of them run and they ran mid 15's they were way slo off the line. before i did my cam and intake swap i only had 161whp and 240wtq and i raced an S2000 from a roll and he beat me but only by about 1/2 a car length i also only had 2:79 gears back then as well.

its all the damn ricers fault! i dont go around trying to race anything i dont have a chance against.....altho one night an old guy in his 5.0 revved on me and i was in a pissed off mood so we went at it and i was like a fender ahead the whole time, im geussing it was an auto it sounded good if i wasent pissed off i probably wouldent have done anything

usually the people with the fast hondas are in their early 20's and some are no joke, around here anyway

it'll run even w/ a new GT (even drivers), and can keep up w/ some of the V8s...

no, its not blazing fast, but like others have said, not many n/a 4 bangers are very quick stock.

agreed, civic. most of the guys i know who are pretty quick, are in their early 20's.

shit im only 18 barly i turned 18 in may and my car will be running 13 hopefully maybe lower within a week. and didnt you run 14s krnx how old are you. what do you think ill run running 14 psi on a t4 (my t3/4 needs to be rebuilt)

i ran 14's, an will still run 14's. ran my 14.8 when i was 18, now im 19.

i was simply talking about higher end cars that are pretty quick (supra, s2k, etc...) most of those are owned by a BIT older ppl (sorry for the misunderstanding.)

youngster, can't keep track of all the cars...u have an ls? cuz if so, look for mid 13's easily, if not lower if u can catch ur tires.

i got a civic ek hatch with a b18c and i have the turbo im just waiting on my head im getting a portflow head its ported and polished i have a b16 tranny with a clutchnet stage 2 clutch. im getting some free si rims with some toyo proxy tires so there good tires that are bran new. and occasionally ill be on some nitto 555 street slicks
