Code 13 air temp sensor
This is a 90 Mitz GS turbo. Runs fine like a raped ape but have engine light. Code 13 which is the air temp sensor which is in the aircleaner. This sensor is part of the air flow and altitude sensor which is very pricey. Part numbers indicate that it does not cross with a non turbo set up. Does anyone know if it is possible to take the hummer apart just to repair the air temp portion? I have bench tested it for resistance and it measures ok. Or does anyone have the whole item for a turbo at a reasonable price. Like cheap. Thanks for you attention. Any help appreciated.

You can pick up used 1g MASs for dirt cheap. Everyone upgrades that POS to a 2g unit, VPC, or a MAF Translator.
Check tuners/talk and the trader. Mitsugraveyard, etc

This car is going up for sale after inspection and repair. Want to keep it stock. I have been buying Mitz cars at auction for repair and rebuild for some time now. I guess my lingo is not up to date, though. What does '1g' and 2g' mean? Please quickly explain POS and VPC. Thanks for your attenion. Doug |

To elaborate on Joes post, 1g is 90-94, 2g is 95-99, and the VPC is a system that gets rid of the stock MAS entirely and allwos you to run a MAP sensor if you so desire.
