Bad news...

Today my dad contacted the head engineer at mclaren Mike Sopp to talk to him about 073. He aked him if he could store it there and come see it to make changes to the car. The bad part is that the lease on the mclaren buildings are up and they are moving everything to one smaller building. He said that mclaren is delaying all work on the f1 to focus just on the slr project. So originally we wanted to store the car until we come up there to make the wanted changes and then it wouold be shipped back. But b/c of the new building mclaren has very little storage space and they are not sure if they can keep the car at the factory. So to sum all of this up mclaren probably wont be able to store the car, and if they could store the car it would take a very long time for any work to be started on the car.

I assume that makes the purchase of #073 less attractive to you guys then? That would be unfortunate.

Have you had any luck tracking down other purchase candidates?

Also, did you ever find out more on that Motorcars Intl F1 you had mentioned before? If you posted about it, I must have missed it.

Good luck btw!

Re: Bad news...

Yea b/c of the new info that lessens the chance greatly about buying 073. If we do purchase a car it will probably be the titanium one at motorcars intl. Sorry i dont have any more info about the car.

Re: Bad news...

You can store the car at any number of secure facilities in England or anywhere in Europe, or ship it back and forth. It's not that expensive.

Is McLaren saying that the move will delay any work to be done on the car? If so, why not buy it and enjoy it in Spain until they are ready to begin? Then get any needed work done, and ship it over...

Re: Re: Bad news...

Our plan was to leave it at mclaren, which they cant do. Then get work done on the car and have them ship it over(now the worked is delayed). B/c it would be a big waste to ship it here then ship it back when ready. We will probably end up gettin a car in the u.s. and once a slip is open for work to be done we will send it.

Yeah, but your huge signature at the end of each post could do with a 75% size reduction...!

Re: Bad news...

Hello,

OK, it's a bad new, but the problem of garage is simply to resolv.

I know a Supercar garage in Paris which can find a parking. Or, there is parkings with lot of beautiful cars and It's monitored ! Once, more than 15 GTO were here !

For example, pics of parking Vendome : http://carpics.free.fr/vendome.htm

If you are interested, tell me !

Good bye
Philippe

What does your avatar have to do with the size of your signature?
