limited slip???????

every one keeps telling me i can rip a limited slip off of usdm 240s but i haven't got a clue as to how to tell if they have the limited slip or not..... some one told me if they got abs , nine times out of ten the LSD i was hopin some one could tell me a sure fire way to make sure that the differential i rip out of another car is LSD....... thanks.....

if your car is an se, it's more likely to have an lsd. and yes, if you've got abs, it would give u better chances. jack up the rear of the car, spin the rear wheels. see if it spins the same way or not. if it spins the same way, then you have your [viscous] limited slip differential. if the "other" wheel spins the opposite way, then you have an open differential.

also, the housing(on almost all cars basically) is identical, so if you got one that's not attatched to the car but already parted for you, you should shit your pants sideways

If its a SE hatch then theres a good chance it has LSD.

Unfortunately, LSD was not available on the coupes

i think all canadian 240's from from 91 and up had a VLSD.

u can check by looking on the housing and looking for a VICOUS LSD or VLSD sticker on it. usually orange in color

or you can start by USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION ON THE FORUMS.. cause this was the first question i asked in this forum... so i KNOW its there somewhere.. look for it before u post again.
