Question Fluid Noise behind the Dash ?

PLEASE HELP !

Just had the radiator replaced in my 1990 Camry. Now I notice a liquid noise coming from behind the dash when I accelerate. Someone told me that means I am low on coolant, but the level seems OK. Any ideas ?

Air in the coolant ? PLEASE HELP !

Re: Fluid Noise behind the Dash ?

You're right. There is air in the system. Let it run. If it preexists tghough...
Why did you have to change the radiator?
Check following: When the engine is absoluttly cold, open the radior cup, start the engine, let it run while watching the watter level. If there are any bubles comming up....
Bad news, your hadgasket/ had is cracked.
Good luck

So let me get this straight...

I replaced the radiator because there was a small crack in the old one...

Now I'm supposed to open the radiator cap with the car running on a cold engine...if there are bubbles then the head gasket is cracked ? I thought that I would find anti-freeze in my oil if there was a head gasket problem...oil seems ok.

Further help appreciated.

If you have a V6 like me, open up the union bolt while the car is idleling after being driven for a while. This will let any air to escape and therfore solve your problem.

Did you replace this radiator yourself??? If yes, did you open up the engine drain plugs?

Question Union Bolt ?

I didn't replace the radiator myself...and if that doesn't clue you in that I'm a complete amateur... I might need more help finding an air union bolt.

Thanks for your help !
