competion system, how to power it correctly

hey guys, i feel that i have a big stereo, 3 jl w3s as well as 1 alpine type r. my amps are a jbl 600.1, a jbl 1200.1 and a rockford 400 a4 amp. all together it is between 2000 and 2500 watts, i was wondering if it would be better to run a couple 1.0 farad capacitors for the power, or to get a bigger alternator. i was wondering what some of you stereo enthusiasts think about this, thanks for the help. im open for other suggestions as well. thanks

With all that running I would get a bigger alternator, a Harrison Labs BatCap, and Wire up 2 1.0 Farad Caps.

Re: competion system, how to power it correctly

Do not get a capacitor, they increase electrical impedance (even if only a little bit) and generally they just dont work that well. You ned a second battery, perhaps an aftermarket ro second alt. If you are experienceing dimming lights, make sure to upgrade your wires especally your ground! I would use 0/2 Gauge. Also, that is not a competition system, somone with ONE properly enclosed, powered, and ported Brahma(15, mabye even the 12) will beat you in an SPL compeition in a sound deadened (sp?) Camaro. Check out the Brahma at adireaudio.com and also take a look at MMATS and RE (the XXX @ respl.com)

Oh and nice amps, excellent choices, except for RF.
