pretty mean sound for a maxima....

Nissan makes some quality cars, i think that they deserve more respect than they get.

....Except for those ugly mid 90's Sentra SE-R's....especially Red ones.... those deserve to be spat upon.

Re: maxima sound

i have a clip of my 95 SE 5 speed maxima with a stillen cat-back and weapon-r intake. it sounds similar to yours. the clip's 2x as long and goes from a dead stop to almost redline 3rd gear.

What's done to your car?

cheap ebay intake (didn't install extension yet). that's it...

i had injen intake, hotshot headers and apexi n1 dual on my 240 and it was pretty damn close to this... i think this sounds meaner (due to the v6)

I WILL GET A BETTER CLIP WHEN I FIND A WAY TO ATTACH MY CAMERA SOMEWHERE IN MY CAR.... i've been very buys lately and just couldn't do it yet. i'll post here again in a day or two with a better clip. it sounds real mean when it's inbetween 6k and 6.5k

Re: maxima sound

that's a nice sound.
my 2k2 has just an intake on it (weapon-r again) and it sounds pretty similar. since it has the Variable intake manifold it sounds like V-tec at 4K rpm when the second intake runner opens up. it sounds real sick past redline. this car redlines at 6600 but fuel doesn't cut off til 7200. i prefer fuel cut off to the ignition retardation cuz i hate the sound of my car hitting rev limit.

Re: Re: Re: maxima sound

OK OK.... 30 seconds after i posted the above post, i thought to myself..... what the hell are you doing now at 10:50pm? well, i was doing nothing so i tried popping that lil camera inbetween the headrest of the passenger seat and it gives a really nice view.

here ya guys go....

0-80mph run in 11.5 seconds...

http://northeastnissans.com/videos/max0to80.wmv

i believe i hit 60 in about 6.5, without hard launching. i got a lot better shifting in the last couple weeks.

nice tire squeak... i know it wasn't the best quality of sound but i think it's the best vid i shot so far.

edit: im still trying to find a better place to put the camera.... until then you'll have to live with that vid

Re: maxima sound

Sounds good, put a string around your neck and tie the camera to it. I know a guy that drives around with a digital camera mounted to his roof's interior and films all his stupid driving adventures, maybe you could rig up a mount without damaging your roof.

Re: Re: maxima sound

don't worry, i WILL find a cam mount for it. it's so small it doesn't even have a tripod screw thing in the bottom...... i'll find something.

-----------------------
<off topic>

camera is a casio exilim s3
http://exilim.casio.com/s3model.htm

if you get any of the exilims, get an s3. i bought a z4 and i didn't like it, it was too heavy and bulky. i think the s3 takes better pictures too, it has a different lense than the z series. it's SO small..........

best camera you can find. http://www.pmdigitalusa.com/product_detail.php?p_id=42 has it for $315/shipped, that's where i got mine. fast shipping too.
-----------------------

and if you do get it, get a 256MB memory card. i think i can store 65 30-sec vid clips on one of those tiny cards. 160 pics at highest 3MP resolution. you see the pics of the z.... came out great.
